Unforgiveness Will Cost You Everything!

So many people live their lives holding grudges, taking offense and holding onto anger, bitterness, resentment and unforgiveness. In one's mind, that is the way to deal with issues. However, the Bible says not to let "the sun go down on your wrath" (Ephesians 4:26). People often utilize God's Word as a point of reference, but seem to think that following His Word is optional! It is by God's Word that we will all be judged. Yes, as Believers, we are deemed righteous because of the sacrifice that Jesus made on the cross for our sin. However, in the Lord's prayer, Jesus teaches us that our sins will ONLY be forgiven us in accordance to the measure that we forgive others. In other words, if we choose NOT to forgive others, WE WILL NOT BE FORGIVEN!

We know that there are only two options for where to spend eternity. We all want to be heaven bound. Therefore, it is imperative that we forgive our neighbor. I realize that there are deep seeded hurts that are hard to forgive. I would encourage you to read THE WALKING WOUNDED. It recounts some of the deep seeded hurts that I have had to overcome. I chose to forgive because I want to honor God's Word and have eternal life!

If you struggle in the area of unforgiveness, I encourage you to repent of unforgiveness daily (and to be specific in terms of who you need to forgive). Ask God, by the power of the Holy Spirit, to help you. The Holy Spirit is our Helper. Then bathe yourself in Psalm 51 daily, as you read it from your HEART! God's Word cleanses us of all unrighteousness. Use it as a weapon against the enemy's schemes. The enemy is the one behind the hurt truly anyway. Then take it a step further and PRAY for your enemies! I hope God uses this as an instrument to set you free! Will you search deep in your heart and forgive today?
